Have you ever had something you loved doing but never really pursued because you weren't sure how it was going to fit into your life?

That's what my relationship with music has been.

​

Music has always been part of my life. I sang in choirs growing up, did musicals and loved to sing, but I never really thought it could be anything more than that. I was perfectly happy being a shower singer (and a pretty committed car singer).

​

But as I got to a stage of life where my career was established and my kids were grown, I found myself drawn back to music. And I quietly started to wonder what it could look like if I explored it again.

​

So I did.

​

I started taking vocal lessons. I began writing my own songs and eventually found the courage to record. The entire process has given me so much more than I ever expected.

​

Music is expression. It's creativity in motion. It's a place where I get to stretch myself, confront myself and learn about myself. And in so many ways, it's made me a better leader.

​

Today, I'm proud to say I'm a singer-songwriter. I love to write and explore music that tells a story — songs that hold a deeper meaning or say something about what it feels like to be human.

​

And I'm doing it alongside a successful career. Not as an either/or decision, but as another part of who I am.

​

I used to think adding music to an already full life would require me to give something else up.

​

I was wrong.

​

Making room for something I loved didn't take away from the life I had built.

​

It made it bigger.

​

That's what Build a Better Business. Build a Bigger Life.  means.   It's not about choosing between ambition and the rest of who we are. It's about building a life with room for both.

​

So this is me -  sharing that part of mine.
